Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Sutton Roff website (suttonroff.co.uk) and any informational interactions with us. They do not govern the delivery of accountancy or tax services — those are covered by a separate engagement letter that we issue before any work begins.
1. About us
Sutton Roff Accountants & Tax Consultants is a trading name of AudTax Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 10356341). Our registered offices are:
- Central London: 60 Tottenham Court Road, Suite 4796A, London W1T 2EW
- East London: Office 316, Imperial Chambers, 10–17 Sevenways Parade, Gants Hill, IG2 6JX
We are part of AudTax Group. Our staff hold practising memberships with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), and the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA), and we comply with their codes of professional conduct.
2. Use of our website
By accessing this website you agree to:
- Use it only for lawful purposes.
- Not interfere with the site's operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or transmit malicious code.
- Not scrape, mass-download or republish content without our written permission.
We may suspend or restrict access to the site (or any part of it) at any time, without notice, for operational or legal reasons.
3. Information on the site is general only
The content on this website — including blog posts, sector guides, fee ranges and tax commentary — is provided for general information. It is not professional advice and you must not rely on it as a substitute for advice tailored to your circumstances. Tax law changes; figures get out of date; your situation is unique. Always speak to a qualified adviser before acting.
We make reasonable efforts to keep the site accurate but accept no liability for errors, omissions, or for any loss arising from reliance on website content.
4. Enquiries do not create a client relationship
Submitting our website form, calling us, emailing us, or messaging us on WhatsApp does not by itself create an accountant-client relationship. We become your accountants only after:
- An introductory call (typically 20 minutes) to understand your needs.
- Anti-money-laundering verification under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017.
- You signing our engagement letter, which sets out the scope of work, fees, deliverables, and our reciprocal obligations.
5. The "find £1,000+ in savings" guarantee
Our free 20-minute review carries a published commitment: if we cannot identify at least £1,000 in legitimate tax savings or efficiency improvements during the call, the call costs you nothing. This guarantee is offered in good faith. It applies only to the introductory call. It does not constitute a refundable fee arrangement for ongoing services. The £1,000 figure refers to identified savings (not realised savings — you'd still need to act on the advice). Where your circumstances are very simple (e.g. PAYE-only individual with no other reliefs available), we will tell you upfront that the threshold may not be reached.
6. Fees and pricing
Indicative fee ranges shown on the site (e.g. fixed monthly fees from £50+VAT for sole traders) are starting points only. Your final fee depends on the complexity of your business, the services you need, and the scope agreed in your engagement letter. We will always confirm fees in writing before commencing work.
7. Intellectual property
All content on this website — copy, design, logos, photographs, graphics, code — is owned by AudTax Limited or licensed to us. You may view, download and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use. Any other use requires our written permission.
8. Links to third-party sites
We sometimes link to third-party websites (HMRC guidance, ICO, professional bodies, partner platforms). We are not responsible for the content, security or privacy practices of those sites. Visit them at your own discretion.
9. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of this website (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) is limited to £100. For paid services, liability is governed by your engagement letter, which typically caps liability at the fees paid in the preceding 12 months and is backed by our £2 million professional indemnity insurance.
10. Privacy and cookies
How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. How we use cookies is set out in our Cookie Policy.
11. Complaints
If you're unhappy with anything, please email info@suttonroff.co.uk or call 0203 633 5413. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 14. If we can't resolve it, you may escalate to our regulatory body (ACCA, AAT or IFA, depending on the engagement) or, for data-protection complaints, to the ICO.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, except that we may bring proceedings in any jurisdiction to protect our intellectual property.
